The Woman in White

The Woman in White is a Helbling Blue Series Reader at CEFR B1, adapted by Elspeth Rawstron from Wilkie Collins's 1859 Victorian mystery. Walter Hartright meets Anne Catherick on a moonlit London road after she escapes from an asylum, then reaches Cumberland and sees that Laura Fairlie has the same face. The plot follows Sir Percival Glyde and Count Fosco as they try to exchange Laura and Anne to get Laura's money. The book keeps the multi-witness evidence style of the original and gives classes useful language for witnesses, alibis, testimony, and deduction. It includes the graded story in softcover, reading tasks, vocabulary work, exam practice, audio through the Helbling Media App, and e-zone activities with the printed access code.
